Broadbeach festival receives cash injection

As if Broadbeach wasn't exciting or vibrant enough, the 2013 Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival has secured a number of high-profile acts for the event.

An injection of funds has seen the likes of Vanessa Amarossi, Ian Ross and Mahalia Barnes all confirming that they are going to be a part of this event. The funding from Events Queensland has allowed the festival to showcase these headline acts which will no doubt do the festival justice.

Supported by the Gold Coast City Council and Broadbeach Alliance, this award winning event takes place in May.

The 2012 festival saw $55 million injected into the local economy as the four-day event saw nearly 100,000 descend upon the area to witness the music.

The CEO of Broadbeach Alliance Jan McCormick said that nearly 70 per cent of this year's visitors were fly-ins, and with such a high quality of talent for next year's show, no doubt more and more will come, with the hope that some will stay and purchase real estate in the gold coast.

"In our opinion, we have the cream of blues performers in Australia coming into the precinct and we will be able to start on Thursday morning and finish on Sunday night," she said.

It comes as Broadbeach has been confirmed as the location for the 2015 Australian Open for lawn bowls.
