Cash in on the Gold Coast’s reputation
As an investor, you're no doubt always weighing up different factors when it comes to choosing your next property.
Knowing there's going to be strong demand for your rental properties in Mermaid Waters is one pretty important aspect, which is why results of a recent study will come as good news.
The Reputation Institute has released its City RepTrak report, which gave the Gold Coast region a score of 65.7 per cent, ranking it in 43rd place.
This puts the city on par with the likes of Miami, Los Angeles, Boston and Brisbane in terms of its reputation among the G8 countries.
A formal request has now been made to the Reputation Institute to see if the Gold Coast can be included in the next rundown of top 100 cities, as a lack of credentials meant this hasn't happened in 2014.
One fact that did emerge through the survey is that more needs to be done to improve the Gold Coast's international profile, as it ranked eighth out of 11 for familiarity criteria.
"It's clear we need to do some more work on increasing the international awareness of our city but I think we're tracking in the right direction and the 2018 Commonwealth Games represents a huge opportunity to address this," said mayor Tom Tate.
