New law simplifies house buying, selling in QLD

Being a consumer is all about making informed decisions. It's your money and you want to make sure you get the most out of it. Everyone knows the sinking feeling of having spent their hard-earned cash on a lemon at some point in their life – but when that lemon sets you back several hundreds of thousands of dollars, the sting can be a little more painful!

That's why Queensland home buyers – including those looking at off the plan apartments for sale in Broadbeach – will be pleased to hear about the Land Sales and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2014 passed by Parliament on 9 September. The bill aims to make home buyers more informed when purchasing off the plan properties in the Sunshine State. 

Among other things, the bill gives families easier access to information about an off the plan property during the sales process, including any proposed earth works and the construction of structures like retaining walls. Buyers will also be informed about the size, floor level and location of any apartment they eye up.

The bill also engages in a number of red tape-cutting measures, such as reducing bureaucratic involvement in contract negotiations and removing restrictions on selling reconfigured and unregistered land. 

Buyers and the industry alike will no doubt find the buying and selling processes easier under these reforms.
