New Library and Cultural Centre Opens on Gold Coast
In what could be great news for those that live in Broadbeach real estate, or houses for rent in the Gold Coast, the new Helensvale Library and Cultural Centre has finally opened its doors to residents.
The $21 million project has been under construction for the past 18 months, and officially opened yesterday (July 17).
The centre will provide residents with multi-purpose meeting rooms, an expanded library collection, improved public computer and Wi-Fi access, rehearsal spaces, and a 200 seat auditorium.
Also included in the cultural centre is a recording studio and digital media lab.
"The inclusion of cultural facilities to the expanded Helensvale Library delivers on a key element of the recently released draft Culture Strategy. It provides opportunities for residents to access and deliver diverse cultural experiences that are distinctly Gold Coast," said Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate.
Mr Tate stated that the new centre will help improve community engagement, which will build a stronger and more connected community overall.
"The Helensvale Library and Cultural Centre provides the local community with a new place and space to come together for learning and recreation," he concluded.
