Popular Play Facility Reopens at Broadwater Parklands
Families living in Gold Coast property will once again be able to make the most of the rockpools at Broadwater Parklands, after the facility was reopened to the public.
Extensive refurbishment has been carried out, which included the resealing of the wet area, as well as an upgrade for some of the play features.
Dawn Crichlow, division six councillor, explained that the rockpools are a popular destination among families – and these latest upgrades will provide yet more incentive for heading there.
She commented: "The new addition, of course, is the synthetic turf. This is something that we are trying out in high use areas instead of continually replacing turf.
"I am confident it will work well in this area that is so popular with the kids."
Broadwater Parklands is a hub for many people living throughout the Gold Coast and provides facilities to be enjoyed by people of all ages, all year round.
A sustainable market is held on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, where local producers sell items such as gourmet breads, homemade jams, herbs, spices and fresh seafood.
Artisans are also present at the market and offer products made from recycled materials.
