Sound of Music singalong will be your favourite thing on the Gold Coast
Who can forget the first time they watched the Julie Andrews classic The Sound of Music? The characters, the story, the songs – there's a reason why the 1965 film continues to enchant audiences across the globe nearly 50 years later.
You can never re-experience the first time you watched the film – but you can do the next best thing particularly if you own some Broadbeach real estate. If you head down with the family to Helensvale Library Community & Cultural Centre on 14 June at 6 p.m., you can rewatch the film for the first time again through the eyes of young ones.
The centre is holding a singalong to the film to raise money for the new Oxenford Men's Shed – an organisation which aims to support men's needs and reduce men's isolation in modern society. It will also raise money for the Oxenford State School P&C Association. So not only is it a great night of fun, you can also feel good about contributing to the local community.
Tickets are $16.50, and there will be food, alcohol and soft drinks also available for purchase. Finally, costumes are encouraged, so crack out that lederhosen.
