TV series to create Gold Coast jobs
Anyone on the lookout for a new job while living in property in Benowa could be about to find their opportunities have increased, as TV crews are due to head to the Gold Coast.
The Queensland state government has announced that Mako will be returning for a third season and 500 jobs are going to be created during the filming stages.
This is in addition to The Family Law and The Code, both of which are also due to be filmed in Queensland.
"Screen Queensland is investing about $1.5 million into these three new TV productions, which are expected to reap returns of about $10.9 million in Queensland Production Expenditure to the state's economy and create hundreds of jobs," said arts minister Ian Walker.
Unbroken, San Andreas and Modern Family have all recently been shot in the region and the next film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is in the pipeline for 2015.
