Broadwater Parklands opens up job opportunities

One of the main draws to property in Benowa is the amount of redevelopment that's underway in the local area, which not only attracts investment but creates new job opportunities.

Broadwater Parklands is one major project that's currently underway in the Gold Coast and it's hoped that more than 80 jobs will be created during the third stage of construction.

Chairman of the Gold Coast Waterways Authority Gary Baildon explained that a new four-lane regional boat ramp is being installed, as well as extensive parking facilities.

Upgrades are also being made to the west of the site to enable access for smaller vessels.

"We have the expertise here on the Gold Coast to deliver this fantastic project and it's a perfect opportunity for local businesses to be part of getting our city ready for the Commonwealth Games," noted Gold Coast mayor Tom Tate.

Efforts are being made to ensure marine life in the area is able to continue to thrive as this latest round of works is carried out.

Civil works will begin at the end of January 2015 and the local council assures people that there will be no disruption to the Broadwater Tourist Park throughout its peak season.
