Draft city plan lets citizens speak their minds

Attention Gold Coast residents! There's big changes coming to your area, and you get to have a say. That's the great thing about life in the Gold Coast – not only do you get to live in paradise, you get to decide just what exactly paradise will look like.

Owning a piece of Gold Coast property means more than just having a beautiful place to reside in. It also means you have a stake in the area. That's why the start of the public notification period of the Gold Coast's draft city plan for 2015 is such a significant event.

The draft plan will be put out in the community over six weeks as part of the public consultation phase for the plan. Gold Coast real estate owners will see 19 public consultation sessions across the city, which will involve learning about the draft plan and talking to planning staff.

"I encourage anyone with an interest in our city's future to visit our website, take a look at the draft plan and make their voice heard by making a submission," said mayor Tom Tate. Submissions will be accepted until 29 July 2014.

Gold Coast and Broadbeach residents ought to take advantage of the opportunity and let their voices be heard.
