Gold Coast a veritable Noah’s Ark this weekend

For some people, it's a pot-bellied pig. For others, it's a pooch of some kind. For others still, it may be a cockatiel that takes their fancy.

Pets come in all shapes, sizes and breeds – and this week at the Gold Coast, you have a chance to take a first-hand look at all the weird and wonderful creatures that populate Broadbeach and the Gold Coast.

Yes, the 2014 Gold Coast Pet and Animal expo – Australia's largest animal expo – is coming back again, and pet-owners who also happen to own residential property on the Gold Coast will want to make their way down.

The expo will take place on Saturday 4 October, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, and Sunday 5 October, 9.a.m. to 3 p.m, and will be held at the Central Park Oval and Varsity Lakes Sports and Arts Centre. It should make for a fun day out for the entire family – and when we say that, we mean including those family members who are on the furrier side.

It's totally free, and those who are transport-challenged can even take a free shuttle bus from Bond University.

We'll see you there!
