International sports to bowl over Gold Coast residents

If you're stumped for what to do in the Gold Coast, or find organising events in the beautiful beachside community a bit of a sticky wicket, we have two things to tell you: Firstly, how is that possible? And secondly, it's time to batten down the hatches and get organised for a series of international cricket matches coming your way.

The Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars, Australia's female cricket team, will play Pakistan on 3 and 5 September at the Gold Coast District Cricket Club at Kerrydale Oval in Robina. Fresh from being declared the the World T20 Champions, this four-match series (of which two matches have already been) will let them test their mettle against one of the most fearsome sides out there.

It's sure to be a ball, but you'll have to field inquiries among friends for who's interested as soon as possible – after all you don't want to be caught out without a ticket.

The weekend of 6-7 September will also see the South Australian XI take on Papua New Guinea in a one-day and T20 match, while on 30 September, the national Irish team takes on the Queensland bulls.

It's events like this that are proof that there's no spin involved when people talk about the desirability of apartments for rent on the Gold Coast
