Jobs flow into Gold Coast for Games

When thinking about buying a property, there's likely a number of different things you're looking for. Perhaps it's employment you're seeking, or maybe you're after an exciting, vibrant local atmosphere. Or maybe, just maybe, you're looking for both.

If this is you, and you just happen to be looking at a Gold Coast property for sale, then you might have just hit the jackpot. The announcement of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games all the way back in 2011 has provided a steady stream of high-profile projects for the area that have helped guarantee employment – and future entertainment value – for its residents.

Take the latest example: On 6 September, State Development Infrastructure and Planning Jeff Seeney announced a contractor had been appointed for the $114 million Carrara Sports Precinct and $40 million Coomera Sports and Leisure Centre projects, taking the Commonwealth Games venues one step closer to delivery – and creating more than 500 jobs in the process.

"In the longer term it will be a fantastic indoor facility suited to a range of sports including netball, basketball, gymnastics and futsal," said Commonwealth Games Minister Jann Stuckey in a 6 September release.

Buyers who get in now could therefore find more favourable prices in Broadbeach than if they put buying off until later.
